President & CEO
Dr. Hampers is a board certified orthopedic surgeon. He successfully created his own private practice, Reflex Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, in Greensburg, PA in 2009 and was named by the Pittsburgh Tribune Review’s readers as one the top three orthopedic surgeons by 2012. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh, as well as, his sports medicine fellowship under the tutelage of world-renowned surgeon Dr. Freddie Fu in 2004. He was the first person to be accepted into a combined MD/MBA program at Dartmouth College and completed it in 1998. Dr. Hampers was elected in 2012 to serve as a board member for Cardiac Assist (dba TandemLife), an international medical products company based in Pittsburgh, PA, which was acquired by LivaNova (LIVN) in March 2018 for $250 million.
Surgery
Dr. Marturello completed her surgical residency training at Michigan State University with a dual Master of Science program. Her work focused on the development of a feline bone substitute and mechanical testing of feline orthopedic implants, and has been presented at both national and international meetings. She and her co-authors were also the first to publish clinical results from the feline I-Loc, an interlocking nail implant developed at MSU. She is currently a Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Michigan State, with her research program focused on 3-dimensional printing in the development of patient specific instrumentation and implant design. Concurrently, Dr. Marturello also continues to perform mechanical testing research, evaluating various orthopedic implants. Dr. Marturello has a particular interest in traumatology and rehabilitation of post-operative traumatology patients.
Surgery
Karen Perry graduated from The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, Edinburgh in 2005. After a short period in mixed practice and an internship in small animal orthopedics Dr. Perry returned to the R(D)SVS to complete a residency in small animal surgery from 2007 to 2010. Following achievement of ECVS status in 2011, Dr. Perry joined the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), London as a lecturer in small animal orthopedics. During her tenure at the RVC, Dr. Perry completed a postgraduate certificate in veterinary education and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
After four years at the RVC Dr. Perry moved to Michigan State University where she is currently a Tenured Associate Professor in Small Animal Orthopedics and Section Head of Small Animal Surgery. In 2022, Dr. Perry was also named the Pat Carrigan Professor of Feline Medicine. Dr. Perry’s passion for veterinary education led her to pursue further qualifications in this ever-expanding field. In 2019, whilst at MSU, Dr. Perry completed her Masters of Science in Veterinary Education, the thesis of which focused on the importance of feedback during veterinary residency programs. Due to her knowledge in education, Dr. Perry was elected to serve on the AOVET NA education committee.
Dr. Perry has published widely in the veterinary literature with her main research interests being feline orthopedics, traumatology and the correction of limb deformities associated with patellar luxation. Dr. Perry, an International AO Faculty, created the first AO Master Course in Feline Orthopedics and has presented her work throughout the world including in Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Italy, Poland and the UK.
Dr. Perry has an expanding interest in the use of social media to enhance professional networking, education and patient care and acts as chair of the AONA social media taskforce.
Diagnostic Imaging
Dr. Habing earned her DVM from The University of Illinois College of Veterinary medicine in 2004, then moved to Maryland to work in a busy small animal practice. After three years, she returned to academia to complete a radiology residency at Michigan State University. She received her board certification in Diagnostic Imaging in 2010 and took a position as Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan until 2013. Currently she is Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University where she teaches diagnostic imaging to veterinary students, interns and residents. She is married to Greg Habing, an epidemiologist at OSU. Together they have 3 daughters, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 1 bunny and 5 chickens.
Cardiology
Dr. Kadotani is Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Medicine at the University of Illinois. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from NC State University in 2015 and completed a rotating internship at Ohio State University in 2016. She finished a cardiology residency at University of Illinois and attained diplomate status in 2019. Dr. Kadotani’s interests are focused on advanced cardiac imaging, interventional procedures, and clinical trials.
Feline Emergency Procedures
Dr. Nappier currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech. He has been at Virginia Tech since 2015 and was in private practice in Westlake, Ohio for ten years prior to that. Dr. Nappier is a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in canine/feline practice and has been since 2012. He currently serves in their Community Practice Service as well as having a significant role in the didactic pre-clinical curriculum. He completed his Masters in Educational Psychology at Virginia Tech in 2022. His interests include feline practice, general surgery and dentistry, the science of teaching and learning, and sleep health in veterinary medicine. When not at work he enjoys scuba diving, traveling, and his ridiculously floofy black cat.
Diagnostic Imaging
Dr. Urion completed her undergraduate, masters, and veterinary degrees at the University of Florida. She pursued an equine sports medicine internship in New England, following which she continued in equine private practice with a sports medicine emphasis for several years. She then completed a diagnostic imaging internship at Washington State University, followed by residency training at The Ohio State University. She now serves as an assistant professor of diagnostic imaging in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Ohio State, and is boarded in both general diagnostic imaging and equine diagnostic imaging. Her research interests include equine musculoskeletal imaging and collaborative studies with the small animal neurology, emergency and critical care, and internal medicine departments.
Dentistry & Oral Surgery
Dr. Arzi is a Professor and Chief of Dentistry and Oral surgery at the department of Surgical and Radiological Sciences at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Arzi completed the residency-training program in dentistry and oral surgery at the School of Veterinary Medicine and two years fellowship in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis. He is a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC) and the European Veterinary Dental College (EVDC). Dr. Arzi is also a Founding Fellow of the AVDC in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Arzi’s clinical and research focus is on oral maxillofacial disorders and regenerative solutions in dogs and cats. His lab also investigates TMJ disorders and treatments across species. Dr. Arzi is the Director of the Veterinary Institute for Regenerative Cures (VIRC) at UC Davis. Ultimately, Dr. Arzi’s work is translational with the aim of One Health treatment modalities for both human and animal health.

A trained Radiologic Technologist and Radiation Therapist, Allison is a highly accomplished professional with extensive experience in medical imaging and laboratory operations. After receiving her undergraduate degree in Medical Imaging, she earned certifications as a Radiologic Technologist and as a Radiation Therapist and spent her early career at UPMC Children’s Hospital and Allegheny Health Network. In her current role as Facility Manager and Safety Officer, she now fulfills her passion for helping others by managing National Bioskills’ lab operations with careful attention to detail and a dedicated commitment to maintaining the highest standards of client care and safety.
National Operations Manager

Kaelin brings extensive knowledge of medical procedures and the medical device industry to her role as National Operations Manager. A highly skilled certified radiologic technologist, she served for 7 years as Lead Tech and later as Facility Manager for National Bioskills’ flagship location in Pittsburgh. During her tenure, she developed critical operating procedures and staff training protocols. Most recently, Kaelin expanded her skills as a Clinical Specialist for a global medical device company, providing hands-on teaching and demonstrations to healthcare professionals during courses and labs. Her deep experience in training and coaching, as well as her breadth of experience with process documentation, risk assessment, inventory management, specimen handling, and surgical procedures, make her ideally suited to oversee the day-to-day operations for all of National Bioskills’ facilities, ensuring events run smoothly and efficiently for every client.
Chief Financial Officer
A seasoned chief financial officer in the medical device sector and other industries, Bob Dickson’s experiences as CFO include a key role in positioning and selling a cardiovascular device company to an international publicly-traded medical device company. Prior to that, Bob served as CFO of a titanium processing company that provided products to the medical device, aerospace, and other industries. Following a successful acquisition, Bob assumed the role of Vice President & Treasurer of the parent company where he oversaw treasury operations, coordinating strategic planning and investor relations and leading a $50 million public stock offering. Bob worked as a CPA for Price Waterhouse for ten years and is a licensed real estate professional in South Carolina.

Arvin Amirriazi is an experienced specimen handler with expertise in research analysis, event management, and OSHA compliance for simulated operating rooms and bioskills training. Ensuring the highest level of safety standards for every event at National Bioskills Laboratories, he provides comprehensive customer service throughout the planning, implementation, and follow up stages. Arvin holds a degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from San Francisco State University as well as a current certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

Medical Director
Dr. Navalgund has extensive experience in advancing medical device education and technique. He is a Board-Certified physician in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and Assistant Professor, West Virginia University, Department of Anesthesiology, and Adjunct Professor, University of Pittsburgh, School of Anesthesia. He is the author of many publications and serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Neuromodulation and is a Founding Member of the Pennsylvania Pain Society. He is also President & CEO of DNA Pain, and a Lecturer and Instructor for numerous national and international companies and societies. His hands-on knowledge of devices and experience as a peer-to-peer educator have helped to develop and customize the wraparound services offered by National Bioskills Laboratories.
